Government Center, Stamford
In the mid-80's Harry and David were working
for HOK, designing a building for GTE's "Sprint" division.
Just after the start of construction GTE reorganized and sold the
building to the city for their new City Hall and Government Center.
Only minor interior changes were needed to accommodate the extensive
public use of the building.
The ten story office tower wraps symmetrically
around a downtown city street corner. The multi-level parking garage
and landscaped roof terrace are placed on the back of the site.
