Country Club of Darien, Kitchen and Administration Building
The second project of a 4-year expansion phase
is the new kitchen / administration building. The new main ballroom
kitchen is a much larger facility and has a full second story of administrative
staff offices.
The building is designed to like the original
farm structures that once stood in this place, when it was the Auchincloss
estate. The original gambrel roof lines are replicated and large gable
ends are organized over the new addition. Shingle siding and white
trim is consistent with all of the club's buildings. The new structure
has enhanced energy and mechanical systems with high R-value insulation,
efficient lighting, and compact design.
